Paros is quintessentially Greece, with its ubiquitous feta-cubed villages, endless marmalade sunsets, sun-drenched hilltop towns, pretty laneways made for slow meanders, and endless golden beaches and hidden coves.

Beyond the obvious beauty, though, Paros is home to some of the most beautiful, charming and unique accommodation options in the Greek Islands. As a result, choosing where to stay in Paros can be a tough ask.

That’s where this guide comes in handy.

We’ve reviewed some of the best hotels (also read our guide to the best hotels in Naoussa), apartments, boutique hotels, and hostels in each corner of the Island to help you find the right accommodation based on your budget and travel style.

LUXURY NAOUSSA HOTELS

PARILIO DESIGN HOTEL

Tucked away in the rolling hills west of Naoussa, you’ll find ParΔ«lio, one of Paros’ best luxury resorts. Architecturally designed to embody the laid-back Cycladic cadence of life, the 33 suites give you no choice but to chill out.

The minimal design, understated palette and abundance of natural stone are genuinely relaxing – especially if you’re visiting Paros to escape the excess of Mykonos.

ParΔ«lio Design Hotel is outfitted with everything you expect in a luxury hotel at this price point: designer furniture, an enormous pool, an on-site spa, a fitness centre, and a restaurant serving modern Greek delicacies.

COVE PAROS

Newly opened for summer 2021, the 40-room Cove Paros overlooks the golden sands and sparkling water of our favourite beach on Paros, Agioi Anargyroi.

Cove was nearly finished when we visited, and since opening, it’s gained a decent reputation among upscale travellers. The location is idyllic, and the rooms and suites are spacious and well-designed. Rada Restaurant will be exquisite if our Naoussa experience was anything to go by.

Hot tip: Moraitis winery nearby is a must-do while on Paros. Book a tasting to learn about Greek wines and sample local snacks.

SAINT ANDREA SEASIDE RESORT

Like ParΔ«lio, the 56-room Saint Andrea Seaside Resort is a 25-minute walk west of Naoussa in a secluded area surrounded by abundant nature.

The rooms and suites are comfortable enough for a relaxing stay. Overall, though, the hotel’s design feels like it will soon belong in a bygone era.

But then there’s the hotel’s best feature by far, the pool. With uninterrupted views over an unspoiled bay out to uninhabited islands, it’s undoubtedly one of the best places on Paros to unwind.

CENTRAL BOUTIQUE HOTEL

The tidy Central Boutique Hotel in the centre of Naoussa is a great base to explore the surrounding town. Opened in 2021, the sister hotel to the sprawling Naoussa Hills hotel takes an entirely different approach.

And it works. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, balancing white and anthracite with pops of vibrant modern art, and the pool is unlikely to get too crowded.

If you’re staying in Naoussa to explore Paros and looking for a comfortable, contemporary base, check out Central Boutique Hotel.

BUNGALOWS SVORONOS

With the beach on one side and the historic centre of Naoussa on the other, both a few minutes away on foot, Bungalows Svoronos is in a great area.

The rooms are simple but comfortable, with kitchenettes and charmingly creaky Cycladic furniture. Some rooms don’t have air conditioning, which could be a problem in the summer months.

But what you’ll really love is the history. Svoronos, one of the oldest accommodations in Naoussa, has spent 50 years accumulating a collection of quirky local antiques and growing the bougainvillaea and trees that shade the garden.

KALYPSO HOTEL & KALYPSO APARTMENTS

Naoussa isn’t cheap, which makes the Kalypso properties appealing right off the bat. There are three Kalypso options: a laid-back boutique hotel by the beach, a 14-apartment complex half a kilometre up the road, or sprawling seafront villas by the bay (although the villas are significantly more expensive).

Both the hotel and apartments offer single, double or family rooms in classically whitewashed buildings.

You’ve got the essential mod-cons like air conditioning, Wi-Fi and refrigerators, plus kitchenettes in the apartments, and private balconies where you can enjoy a glass of Greek wine and watch the lazy bay.

PARIKIA | WHERE TO STAY ON PAROS

LUXURY HOTELS IN PARIKIA

YRIA ISLAND BOUTIQUE HOTEL

Yria Boutique Hotel, situated high on a verdant hill overlooking the yawning bay of Parasporos, is every bit the laid-back luxury stay you’d imagine on a Greek island.

From pink bougainvillaea climbing whitewashed arches to the open-air spa surrounded by fruit trees, to the palm trees fringing the pool, Yria looks idyllic. It also makes claims to be eco-friendly, which we like.

But dig a little way into the reviews, and you’ll see it might be too good to be true. There are better places to stay for the price, closer to Parikia or Naoussa.

PAROS AGNANTI HOTEL

If you have your own car (which we recommend when exploring Paros), the 4km journey from Parikia to Paros Agnanti won’t be an issue. For the effort, you’ll be rewarded with a gorgeous blonde beach populated mostly by locals, plus the experience of staying in one of Paros’ top-rated luxury hotels.

Some rooms have sea views. Some have hot tubs. Some have pools – and some have a combination, so you can take a dip in private and watch over the beach. Tough choice!

Rest assured that whichever room you choose will be tastefully decorated and fully equipped for a pampered stay.

MID-RANGE HOTELS IN PARIKIA

ERATO (APARTMENT ALKAIOS)

Natural light spills in from the courtyard, illuminating natural stone peeking through whitewashed walls. Interior archways open to bright nooks with quirky, off-kilter architecture. You might feel like you’re stepping into a cliffside Cycladic cave when really, you’re in Erato, a 500-year-old apartment in the heart of Parikia.

Erato is a little nook of home-away-from-home luxury created by Alkaios Apartments.

We love the abundance of natural materials and the clever use of a small space. Erato’s charm definitely outsizes its floor plan; its central Parikia location and fully-equipped setup make it ideal for couples.

BETHLEHEM HISTORIC TOWNHOUSE

Despite being in the middle of Parikia, with its twisting lanes and squares that come alive on a summer night, Bethlehem Townhouse is a nest of tranquillity for a chilled-out family stay.

The two-bedroom home was built in 1600 and renovated more recently in 2016. From the traditional Cycladic furniture to the sunny rooftop terrace, the restorations blend original charm with loads of natural materials and natural light.

It’s everything that makes Parikia more appealing than Naoussa for experience-seekers; laid-back and unpretentious, yet still overflowing with the charm of Greek island life.

BUDGET ACCOMMODATION IN PARIKIA

PAROS BACKPACKERS

If you’re looking to save money and make friends book a bed at Paros Backpackers. There are standard dorms and private rooms for groups, all with refrigerators and en-suite bathrooms.

But the social scene is the real attraction. Whether lounging by the pool, congregating on the rooftop to watch a stunning sunset or cooking together in the kitchen, you’re guaranteed to meet all kinds of friendly folks.

The owner will invite you to a WhatsApp group that’s great for finding adventure buddies. And the party moves on when the rooftop closes at midnight, so you can still get a good night’s sleep.

KRIOS BEACH CAMPING

Krios Beach Camping is one of the most budget-friendly accommodation options on Paros, and is popular with the locals.

A basic two-person cabin with A/C is only €40 per night (summer 2022), or you can camp for €13. You don’t even need to BYO because renting a tent costs the same as setting up your own.

The distance from Parikia is a downside, so for the extra €15, we’d opt for a private room at Paros Backpackers.

But Krios beach…well, put it this way: we walked all the way there from Parikia, and it was 100% worth the sweaty journey.

LUXURY HOTELS IN LEFKES

PAROCKS LUXURY HOTEL & SPA

Paros shuns hectic schedules. It’s all about relaxing and reconnecting with nature – which is exactly what Parocks Luxury Hotel offers.

Opened in December 2020, Parocks Hotel is a champion of sustainable design (which we like) and a secluded haven in the hills overlooking a wide-open sea (which we also like). Each of the 13 rooms and suites has a private pool, and there’s plenty more indulgence in the restaurant, bar, spa, and open-air jacuzzi.

Although closer to Naoussa (and super close to the beach!), we’ve included Parocks Luxury Hotel here because it fits the β€˜charming mountain town’ vibe that made Lefkes one of our favourite Greek villages.

SWEET PATH VILLA

Lefkes’ charm unfurls as you explore the twisting lanes, passing houses seemingly stacked on top of each other before eventually reaching the Byzantine church to see wheat-coloured hills rolling gently towards the sea.

Sweet Path Villa, built on a hill close to the church, offers that same romantic β€˜breath of fresh air’ feeling – and you don’t have to share the view.

The two-bedroom family-owned villa, built recently in the sugar cube style, is modern and comfortable with a big lounge, outdoor pool, garden and gorgeous terrace. It’s strolling distance from Lefkes and ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring Paros.

AGIASI VILLAS

A new three-villa complex of luxury sugar cube villas, Agiasi Villas is every bit the embodiment of Lefkes’ rising popularity. The panoramic views over Lefkes out to the sea strait separating Paros from Naxos, the shared pool (one villa has a private pool), the sunbeds…the entire place is prime for relaxing in the sleepy hilltop village.

The villas are all two-floor self-contained homes sleeping up to nine people. You’ve got a fully equipped kitchen complete with a coffee machine, two or three bathrooms, up to four bedrooms and modern finishes in every space.

TRADITIONAL WINDMILL

This might be one of the best apartment finds we’ve ever encountered. Windmills were traditionally used in the Greek islands to mill wheat – they’re everywhere around the Cyclades, but this might be one of very few you can sleep in.

Four meters in diameter and 7.5 meters high, the Stunning Traditional Windmill houses a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room over two floors. And you’re strolling distance from the village of Lefkes.

Originally built in 1856, the windmill was β€œmortally wounded” in a storm a century later and eventually restored to its current glory.

BOCAMVIGLIA CYCLADIC GEM

Although not the most budget of budget accommodation options in Greece, Bocamviglia Cycladic Gem is in the heart of Lefkes Village, making it a perfect base for exploring Paros at a relaxed pace.

The one-bedroom home can house three people (four at a squeeze), bringing the per-person cost down to a comfortable level.

Bocamviglia is packed with locally-made charm and old-fashioned character. Sometimes that β€œcharm” translates to a kitchen in need of an update, and sometimes a delightfully sunny balcony made of gently curving whitewashed stone.

BOOK | BOCAMVIGLIA CYCLADIC GEM

VILLA BYZANTINO

The compact complex housing Villa Byzantino is geared towards eclectic travellers: honeymooners seeking an authentic experience, writers and artists, and families escaping to the hills of Lefkes for some fresh air.

The decorations don’t match, and the villa complex has a series of tucked-away spaces to explore, but that’s all part of the charm.

Among Paros accommodation options, Villa Byzantino has a well-deserved reputation as a haven for the arts among the Lefkes surroundings.

SUMMER SENSES LUXURY RESORT

Overlooking the golden sands and sun umbrellas dotting Logaras beach, Summer Senses aims to capture the essence of a Cycladic summer for guests at the luxury hotel.

The sprawling 30-acre Summer Senses complex would be imposing if it were located closer to Parikia or Naoussa. There are 11 separate buildings, 12 private freshwater pools and three communal pools (three!).

But the eastern side of Paros receives less tourism, even in the busy summer months, so you can rest easy whether floating in the pool overlooking the Aegean sea or walking the 3 minutes down to the beach.

POSEIDON OF PAROS

Situated near Golden Beach (Chrissi Atki), the family-friendly Poseidon of Paros has spent 20 years perfecting its offering of serenity and warm Greek hospitality.

There are four room types for couples and families, two swimming pools, pool and beach bars, a delectable restaurant and even better views. All rooms come with a balcony, almost all overlooking the sea, so guests can enjoy the fresh breeze in privacy.

As befitting the unassuming eastern edge of Paros, Poseidon does the simple things very well, allowing you to breathe the fresh air and truly relax.

CALME BOUTIQUE HOTEL

Calme Boutique Hotel is very much tailored to romantic getaways. Imagine degustation dinners on a terrace overlooking Golden Beach or sunbathing on your private balcony (also with sea views).

Calme is far enough from Paros’ most famous beach that couples won’t be disturbed by high-season crowds, but the golden sands are still accessible by a 10-minute drive or 40-minute downhill stroll.

With five classes of rooms and suites – all of them containing β€œsea view” in the name – plus an incredible restaurant, attentive staff and no sound except nature, Calme is the whole package for honeymooners.

CLEOPATRA SEASIDE HOME

One minute from Logaras beach and walking distance to the village of Piso Livadi (head there if you’re craving a long lunch of fresh seafood and chilled wine), the seven-apartment Cleopatra Seaside Home is perfect for families and friend groups.

Ranging from 40m2 one-bedroom apartments to 65m2 three-bedroom and 70m2 two-bedroom homes, with sea views or mountain views, Cleopatra is island life exemplified.

The architecture is typically Cycladic, the blue and white decorations lifted straight from a Nautica or Sperry catalogue, and the light-filled rooms are cool and comfortable for a languorous stay.

THE DETAILS

BOOK | CLEOPATRA SEASIDE HOUSES

VILLA DANAE

Sitting above Piso Livadi, with views over the sea from the sunny terrace or private pool, the four-bedroom Villa Danae is one of the best places we’ve seen for group trips.

The fixtures and finishings are a little dated, but the two-floor apartment is clean and commodious, with on-site parking, a full kitchen, three verandas and sunbeds galore.

Piso Livadi isn’t the most exciting village in the Greek islands. Still, there’s plenty to do if you get tired of soaking up the sun on the terrace or taking dips in the pool (like that’s possible).

We had a great time hiking from Piso Livadi to the healing clay sands of Kalogeros beach, and there are easy bus connections to Lefkes, Naoussa and Parikia.

LONDOS HOME

Clean, modest, welcoming and bright: Londos Hotel ticks all the boxes of a two-star Greek island hotel.

The 20-room hotel is an eight-minute walk from Logaras beach in the traditional fishing village of Piso Livadi and caters for singles, couples and families.

Every room has air conditioning, a balcony, and basic living amenities like a mini fridge, Wi-Fi, and a flat-screen TV. Plus, you can arrange activities like sailing trips, SCUBA diving, Santorini excursions and vehicle rental through the local family who have run Londos Hotel since the 1970s.

ASPRIES SUITES

For a budget hotel in a relaxed area of Paros, Aspries Suites is surprisingly spacious and very comfortable. The design style in the eight Aspries Suites is typically Cycladic with tasteful modern touches, and the rooms are well equipped for a self-contained stay with a coffee machine and basic kitchen amenities.

It’s a little way from the beach, but Logaras and Piso Livadi are reachable via a leisurely stroll or short drive.

PAROS AFRODITE LUXURY VILLAS

Paros Afrodite Villas isn’t as all-out luxurious as some of the other luxury hotels in this guide, but that’s in keeping with Aliki’s authentic, laid-back, budget-friendly atmosphere.

These luxury villas sleep two to 15 people, with a private pool or jacuzzi attached to every villa and sea views towards Antiparos. You can opt for indulgences like a private chef, boat excursions, massage treatments or excursions, or simply relax in the spacious private villas.

The five villas are still upscale, simply without the unnecessary frills and frivolities that command higher prices in areas of Paros like Naoussa.

PAROSLAND HOTEL

Surrounded by 10 acres of blooming gardens and olive trees and located 500 metres from the beach, Parosland is the ideal affordable upscale hotel in a relaxed area of Paros.

There are a handful of bungalows with communal access to the pool and lots to keep kids entertained. From the abundant breakfast buffet to relaxing by the pool, to sampling local cuisine and cocktails at the on-site restaurant, Parosland has everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Younger wanderers should be aware that Parosland markets itself to families more than millennials.

MAROUSSO’S SEAFRONT HOUSE

A lot of Paros accommodation calls itself β€œseafront”, but Marousso’s Seafront House really lives up to the name. Any closer to the sea and you would get wet stepping out the front door.

The 1950s house is unassuming from the outside. However, thanks to a 2019 renovation, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom home is modern and bright. The original character is still evident in wooden beams and thick traditional stone walls.

An excellent option for families, two couples or a group of friends, Marousso’s house is a chilled-out place to rest your head in Aliki.

ACOYA SUITES PAROS

Whoever was in charge of decorations at Acoya Suites knew what they were doing. The abundance of wood and local stone blend seamlessly with classic whitewashed walls, and the warm lighting ties it all together when the sun goes down.

Acoya Suites, located in the centre of Aliki village, has six rooms with sea or mountain views from the balconies.

Unfortunately, there are no kitchen amenities and not much privacy, but the beachfront views and beautiful decorations more than compensate for couples enjoying a short stay.

OSTRIA STUDIOS AND APARTMENTS

Ostria Studios and Apartments’ seafront setting is unbeatable, and the apartments are surprisingly spacious for budget-friendly family accommodation.

All 24 apartments are air-conditioned and have basic amenities like a microwave and crockery. The bigger apartments are well set up for families, with fully equipped kitchens and single beds in the second room.

Privacy on the patio could be a concern for the ground-floor rooms, although the trade-off of being mere steps from the sea is worth it.

EVI ROOMS

There are a fair few budget accommodation options like Evi scattered around Paros, especially in smaller villages like Aliki and Piso Livadi.

But we especially like Evi Rooms for the little touches that make the place feel like home. And no wonder – Evi is associated with Parosland, one of the nicer-designed hotels in the area.

There are six double rooms (some can sleep three) with sea view balconies, plus shared facilities like a communal kitchen and lush garden. And as a bonus, guests have access to the Parosland hotel nearby.

THE BEST VILLAS ON PAROS

ACRON VILLAS

Set high on a hill with views of Naoussa to the east and Kolympithres beach to the west, the 24 private villas of the Acron Villas complex feel totally secluded while still tangentially connected to Paros’ nightlife hotspot.

Each villa has a private pool, with two, three, four or five bedrooms sleeping up to 11 guests. The rustic-minimalist design aesthetic is a nod to the nearby limestone formations tumbling into the sparkling sea.

But there’s nothing minimalist about the offering: every villa has a full kitchen, dining and living areas, sun lounges, and most even have a fireplace.

THE DETAILS

BOOK | ACRON VILLAS

CYCLIDIAN HOMAGE

Cyclidian Homage is actually two separate living spaces providing accommodation for up to 12 people in five bedrooms.

Everything is doubled up for comfort and convenience. Two kitchens, two living rooms, and two dining areas, meeting under the shaded patio overlooking the sea on the northern peninsula of Paros. Only one plunge pool, though!

Cyclidian Homage is an ideal getaway for families or large groups. But the location is off the main bus route, so you’ll need a car (or two) if you plan to explore Paros.

THE DETAILS

BOOK | CYCLIDIAN HOMAGE

CYCLADIC JEWEL

This might be the only accommodation on Paros with a sauna, at least from what we’ve found. Cycladic Jewel is certainly a jewel, although the blended design – including the sauna, Aztec rug, rusticana whitewashed walls and Scandinavian decorations – are more eclectic than Cycladic.

Still, it works.

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom villa sleeps up to 10 people, with an outdoor plunge pool, ping pong table and home cinema system. It’s all tied together by thoughtful architecture that makes excellent use of natural light.

THE DETAILS

BOOK | CYCLADIC JEWEL

CASA CAIQUE

A sign by the door reads β€œWelcome to paradise”, and if that doesn’t sum up life in a 6-bedroom Cycladic villa, then we don’t know what does.

The 250m2 Casa Caique property comprises a main building and three independent guesthouses, comfortably sleeping a total of 12 people. Some bedrooms open onto a stunning sea view, and there’s a nice big pool beside a shaded patio, which almost makes up for the absence of a kitchen and a few questionable furniture choices.

(PS: a caique is a small, brightly-painted wooden boat used for fishing or trading. So you’re welcome for that piece of trivia.)

SENSE OF PEACE

The name β€œSense of Peace” might be underselling just how peaceful this place is. From the open, breezy architecture, to an abundance of light wood, to the infinity pool overlooking an uninhabited islet off the tranquil eastern coast of Paros, everything has been thoughtfully designed for relaxation with a touch of opulence.

Sense of Peace is minutes from Isterni, thought to be the oldest village on Paros.

With room for 14 people across the main house, lower wing and guest house, you and your guests are sure to find peace here.

MINT & MARJORAM

Most luxury villas on Paros are perched overlooking the Aegean Sea, but Mint & Marjoram is happy to buck that trend in the name of a secluded stay surrounded by 30 acres of hillside beauty.

Don’t worry, you can still see the sea. And it’s reachable by car in under 15 minutes.

With sleeping space for 10 people in five bedrooms, an outdoor infinity pool, a full kitchen, a barbecue, a vegetable garden and a wood-burning fireplace, Mint & Marjoram is a cosy place to get together.
